Well, looks like the cubs had another amazing out-and-about activity. This time at Edinburgh Zoo, where they got to see loads of animals in the zoo, as well as a special workshop with the zoo rangers. Some of the cubs were brave enough to get very up close and personal with a snake and other creatures ...

Take a look at the gallery for some great pictures.

Latest from the Cub section

The cubs have been dead busy recently! They recently completed the Chef badge, and learned about kitchen hygiene, made the most delicious pizzas, some angel delight and fruit, and some chocolate crispie cakes. The Chefs badge is sponsored by Edam and the cubs got some Chefs hats to wear while they were cooking. Hopefully a couple of photos soon!

Moving outdoors, the cubs were at their Braveheart camp 15th-17th May at Bonaly along with the Cubs from the 150th, 186th and 3rd East Kilbride. They visited Edinburgh Castle, Arthurs Seat, and Pizza Hut. They also held Highland Games, a campfire and played games with the earth ball. Check out the photos in the Gallery.

Finally, the gang are looking forward to their trip to Loudoun Castle Theme Park with other Cubs from South East District on 7th June.

Kandersteg Christmas Bag-pack

Our second bag-pack for the Kandersteg expedition will be taking place at Sainburys East Kilbride on 24th December.

Sainsbury’s is always a top fund-raising opportunity for us, so we hope for as much support from Scout, Cubs, Explorers and parents as possible.

Shifts will be of 2 hours each; 10 to 12, 12 to 2 and 2 to 4. Smart uniform is required and we ask you to wear your Scout cargo pants or kilt.

More details can be found here, and remember, you don’t have to be going to Kandersteg to help out.

Bag-packing success

Well done to everyone who helped out at the bag packing in Tesco on 1st November, we completely exceeded our expecactions and our Kandersteg funds have had a great start.

Please keep the 24th December 2008 free for the next bag pack at Sainsburys East Kilbride. More details to follow

Cub Pack goes "Out of this world'

They had a great time visiting Dynamic Earth, went on a Mercat Ghost Walk, played a wide game, had a campfire, did the Astromers badge and enjoyed the sunshine!

Cubs Global Challenge project raises money

On Friday 22nd Feb the Cub Pack started their Global Challenge programme. Part of it is to learn about what charities do. The Cubs were asked to bring along a shiny £1 coin and as they were polishing it they were to think of people who were less fortunate than themselves.

At the meeting the Cubs thought about Scouts in other countries as it was the Founder's birthday. As they did this they placed their coin's on the country they were thinking about and lit a candle.

Most of the Cubs remembered their £1 coins and raised £16 which they decided to should go to the Dogs Trust.

New Cub programme just posted

We've added the new Cub programme to the site. Mosey on over to the Cub page to see what's coming up.
