An exciting opportunity for 185th Explorer Scouts is
announced.
Planning is underway for a proposed Explorer Belt
Challenge in summer 2009, which will be jointly
organised by the Cambuslang and 185th Explorer Scout
Units. The Explorer Belt Challenge involves a
two-week expedition travelling through another
country to help participants develop a real
understanding of cultures, and working within a small
team of three to four explorer scouts to complete a
series of projects and meet local people.

“An Amazing Adventure”
For summer camp this year the Scout and Explorer
Scout sections are going to
Hawkhirst Scout camp. The camp
will run from Saturday 26th July 08 to Saturday
02nd August 08, Hawkhirst is located near
Kielder Water in Hexham.
Hawkhirst is a UK Scout national activities centre
and has fantastic activities available from abseiling
and climbing to sailing on Kielder water. The older
Scouts and explorers will get the opportunity to take
part in a one night canoeing expedition. This summer
camp will also be an excellent team building
opportunity in preparation for our Kandersteg summer
camp adventure in 2010.
